A couple of corrections -
1. It is possible to import a financed car from the US into Canada i.e. even if you don't own the title, you can import.
All you need is permission from the lien holder.
Of course, the lien holder will require some kind of loan transfer or payment arrangement set-up, but that's between you and the lender - RIV doesn't care.
I know of several people who have exported financed cars from US and imported into Canada - it's quite legal, and quite common.

Of course, you can drive the vehicle with US plates, in theory, forever in Canada without registering in Canada and hence you need not import, but just bring the car. But what that does during plate renewal or border crossing into US or if you get pulled over, etc, can't say.

By reading all the above messages, I might choose to change my profession and start some cross (ing) the border consultancy with a special panel of advisors...e.g..Dimple, Pratik, Happy etc....maybe we should also include "Guns" along with "Cars" in our agenda and grab some Govt. contracts especially with the RCMP???? Any ideas can be sent through PM or e-mail...cheers!!!
"Coming from the US ,what to bring with me??"
Bring everything you can which does not require a warranty OR whose warranty is valid in Canada (notebooks , projectors , camcorders, etc.) . Stuff in Canada is expensive AND you have to add on 15% taxes. To top it off the selection is lousy and customer service is poor. With the Canadian dollar at 0.85 USD there is virtually nothing that is cheaper here than the U.S. Get prepared for sticker shock!
