VARANASI: Indian Justice Party National President Udit Raj demanded reservations for the scheduled castes and scheduled tribers in the private sector, including those owned by the multinational corporations (MNCs).

The number of jobs in the government and public sector have shrunk over the years, particularly among the SCs and STs, he told reporters here.

The IJP president said he would visit the United States next month to discuss with the MNCs about making provisions for the reservations in jobs while setting up their units in India.

Udit Raj, who formed his political party for providing an alternative platform to the dalit communities and invited the ire of the Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati, slammed the BSP leader for trying to win over the upper castes in order to strengthen her political party.
