I have my 10 year old Indian driving licesnse currently in India getting authenticated by the Issuing RTO Authority .
Am I eligible to take the G1 test in this mean time ?
Will they ask me for the Indian Driving License and can I show them a scanned copy to go ahead with G1?
Can someone provide some telephone numbers of MTOs in Toronto ?
Thanks
Fido.

You need to present your driving license to the DriveTest centre.

Hi, during my G1 i was asked to get a letter from my consulate to authenticate my old indian license about 5 yrs old. i called up the consulate and they say , they are not doing it any more, and that they want as many people to know this new reality as possible...so the only way out? 8 months wait to take ur G2.
my question is, has anyone else experienced this?? someone i knew was mentioning getting your license notarised...would that be an option??
thanx in advance.

I just came from my g1 test at 777 Bay Street. The lady there accepted my 5 yr old Indian driving license from UP. i was rejected twice at the same centre with the same driving licence.
The trick that worked for me was that I removed the lamination on my licence and they accepted it saying that I will get one year of driving credit. However, she added that if i get a letter from RTO/Embassy , then I can get full credit and can appear for G.
I am happy with this case. I am okay with G2. Gives you almost the same rights.
Thanks
