Hello friends,

I am thinking to buy a gas station with a convinience store in a rural areal ( in a radius of 200 KM from Toronto ).
I need information about -
1. How much finance I should be prepared to invest - ofcourse this depends the size and place of the business but if someone can give me rough estimate..
2. What is the profit margin i.e what return I should be expecting.
3. What are the issues I should be considering before getting into this venture ?

Any suggestion ? Any advise ?

that any time some asks about buying a gas station, we get this chevron website with no useful information.

Namaskar has some specific questions... and would love SPECIFIC answers.

Check out this thread for some details on the Gas Biz. And I believe it answers your questions and more.

My personal exp.........A buddy of mine bought it and I ran it on my own for few days before calling it quits becuase i was bored oout of my skull.
The specifics are
1-Was in a place called dunnville near hamilton
2- around 40K
3-Included 8 pumps and huge convenience store and a two bedroom house behind the convenience store.
4-Margin on Gas was around10 cents or more depending on the rush and the buying rate.
5-You will make a little more money if you keep adult magazines, newspapers, lottery, cellphone cards and the regular stuff
6-Be prepared to be open from 5-30 to 11 in the night atleast. staying 24 hours open I dont think is worth it.
7-Be careful when you buy the place and make sure the tank holding the fuel does work and no extra things need to be done to it and it complies with the regulations.

That seems to be missing a zero.
