hello sir,
sir, my husband is going to apply for my sonsorship in canada , as i am in India. we have some doubt in filling the form
sir while filling the "Sponsored Spouse Questionnaire IMM 5490 " question Number No 17 which asks " when was the wedding arranged and where was the wedding arranged"
sir, answers to these question would be the place and the date where wedding was fixed of the place or the date or place where the wedding actuually took place.
our weding was fixed on our Roka function that was in November 2002.
but our wedding took place in May 2003.
they have asked a separate question on the wedding , but there have mentioned " was there any formal ceremony to recognise the marriage"
sir we both are very confused at this point of time.
we are waiting for this only

Hi there,
The question is a sub-question of whether your marriage was an "arranged marriage" or not. If you guys met by yourself, then you do not need to answer the subquestions, just check NO.
However, if you marriage was arranged, then this is asking where and when your marriage was arranged. So for example, if the boy's family visited your family and after some visits, you guys decided to forward with marriage, then you need to inform CIC on when and where this decision was made.
Its not asking you where the marriage actually took place.

but i have written the date of marriage as the date when it was fixed.
but i have also attached a separete sheet after reading this reply and explining the whole situation. and the writing the new date when it was fixed.
will this be OK for CHC to consider that.
please guide me.

You don't sound like you've submitted the forms yet, have you?
If you have not, why not print another copy and fill it out again (or at least fill out this page again)?
