I had a question about Family Member Sponsorship (non-spousal) for Permanent Resident Status.

Once the consulate asks to send the original passport (Indian in this case), how long does it usually take the authorities to stamp it and send it back in the mail.

If they have approved the dependents then it takes about 3 weeks max to get the passports stamped.
