Hello,

Any advices for someone arriving under spouse category....??

About questions at the time of entry, min or max limits of $ to carry, etc. ?

I would be happy to speak to someone who has recently arrived under this category. Pl let me know.

Thanks

My wife arrived in May this year. Absolutely no questions were asked and the whole process was very smooth and straightforward. I don't think you need to worry about this.

Feel free to email me if you have more questions.

Thanks for the reply.

As I know, these days, they do not require PCC, and Income tax clearance certificate at the air port ?

Because his PCC is now more than 6 months old.

Will they let him bring in Laddoos my mom has sent with him ? :)

And what about declaration of the value of goods / gifts (jewellery) he has brought in ? Do they ask that ? And is there any limit above which they will charge ?

After flight arrives, it will take min 2 hrs before hes out ?

Thanks

Aashu

When u are arriving for the first time in Canada, you can bring as much goods as you want as long as they are your personal goods or were used by you. You can bring even used car, whatever. Regarding Jewellery best is to get evaluated but you can guess the value and it is better to state higher rather than lower since first time u do not have to pay any duty why to declare lesser value. As far as $$ as spouse u are not required to bring any. However if you have more than 10,000 you are suppose to declare it. It will not take long to come out as no one is going to ask any questions etc. Ladoos Yes, declare them and if asked show them
