I have the original CD of Office XP but not the documents since that is kept in the custody of office. Since I have it one copy original since it is for my computer given by the office. Will it work ? Can I take my Laptop with Windows XP installed in it or should I remove it and installed Linux which is free?

Please guide me.

i use openoffice... its free, and works with all the microsoft documents (.doc, .xls, .pps etc).. openoffice comes standard with some of the linux distro's...

completely disagree... comparitivly, linux is better all around than windowz... security, stability, scalability, and most importantly, price...

you mean at immigration? bah man noone cares what software you have on your laptop as long as your laptop wont blow up while you are on the plane...
