Hi
Off late , I have observed a trend of people in my acquaintance to look for houses / town homes in Ajax in stead of Brampton.
What are the benefits either of these location has over the other one ( esp Ajax over Brampton) ?
I can think of a few but then CD s may be aware of more ..
a. Cheaper houses ( though I think they should be comparable to Brampton)
b. Better & cleaner community.
c. Better access to down town via GO express.
d. Better schools.
e. Cheaper Insurance / property tax ..
Advantages Brampton has over Ajax is more Indian community , restaurants , closer to west end suburbs like Mississauga & Etobicoke where again there s a concentration of Indian businesses ...
What else - how do these 2 places compare to each other Ajax to Brampton ? ...Are there any distinct edge/s one has over the other ?

IMO,
Ajax is more open, up coming and the lots are open and the population is a little diverse.
Brampton on the other hand is the home of the Blacks and the Desi's, conjested and old.
Both are located at the extreme ends of each other.
It is simple dynamics, if you job is in Downtown or East of it, choose Ajax. If you job is in Downtown or West of it, choose Ajax. Nothing more to it.

and if you have to travel often taking flights, chose Brampton.
and if you want your home equity to grow leaps and bounce , chose Brampton, Brampton has potential to grow towards Caledon and Georgetown where as Ajax is merging into Whitby with no further option of extend.
In case you intend to go to US, chose Brampton.
In case you want to watch bollywood movies in theatre, music shows, chose Brampton or mississauga.
In case you want to go beaches in summer , to grand bend (where there is europeon/south america feel), to Wasaga etc. Chose Brampton.
Frankly I see no advantage of moving to Ajax, except if there is strong case of being near the job place. but jobs do change.
TK is shooting from hips this time, demeaning his own community, his knowledge about Brampton is old and seems to be limited to Brampton downtown. I lived in Markham, been to Uxbridge, Ajax and Scarborough, The roads are much wider in Brampton than all these places. There is GO train also in this area taking you to downtown Toronto. Only thing I hate about Brampton is 410 congestion, though there is plan to add lanes to it and work is started. 407 is still good option which runs through Brampton , but away from Ajax, rather finishes before Ajax.

I prefer Brampton any day in compare to Ajax - unless i hv my work or business in AJAX
Desi or no Desi - how many people we meet or regular days anyways ?
GTA is too crowded - most of our energy and time get wasted on roads - so chose the place which required less travel.

Assuming if one has to work down town , it seems to be equi distant .
401 is more accessible to Ajax than Brampton.
Are the property taxes / auto insurance way lower in Ajax vs Brampton ?
Are the schools & community better as well by and large ?
