Great to hear you use CAD. Please look at Revit Architecture / AutoCAD Architecture ,
Graphisoft ArchiCAD. They are much more intelligent and comprehensive. You basically construct the building virtually from bottom up - no need for plan and separate 3D. Important information such as quantity of materials and prices can also be included, and these can be shared with other engineers for collaboration. These are known as Building Information Modeling ( BIM ).

During my work experience we dealt with tie - up company in 3D printing as well - if you can extract a water-tight 3D model of the building - you can get a printout, albeit a very expensive one.

First obtain the letter of approval with their assistance to you either in teaching and/or Research or both from SFU. Then print out a set of student application forms. First fill them off the net. Then finally on the web and you will have your application approved in a short time span of FIFTEEN DAYS.

Arrange for tentative travels with a local travel agent, with date to be fixed upon receival of STUDENT VISA. (To Vancouver - Canada)

Have a PP valid for 10 years and go through all of the clearances. Tatkal

Raise sufficient funds and have it handy. Some of which will go for the first year admission. The rest in escrow, also some cash for initial start up.

Pay your admission to the SFU upon receipt of their letter, via Wire transfer. (Obtain details from them.)

Get an electronic receipt from them with your student number with details as needed by the Canadian Immigration.

File your application for a STUDENT VISA on the web. Also pay the fees : http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/study/study.asp

When they ask for the Passport, for stamping, send it by courier with prepaid return Way Bill.

AND Then you are OFF....
Currently international students can work here in Canada for 20 hours Max in any work/per week, even while studying. See the Department Head and consult him.
