It is really a great debut performance by AAP. But by refusing to take part in Government formation it is insulting the mandate. Re-election is not a good option, especially when it happens at the time to national election.
Remember, the AAP internal survey was showing that 1/3 of its supports wants to see NaMo as PM.

Hurat Honani Murat!
If AAP can form the minority Govt. and in case such an option exists, they should go with it by all means. It will be, however hard for them to pass the bills and enforce their own mandate in such a scenario. Anyway, it would at least bring the transparency and clean Governance in Delhi. Let's see.
Don't hold your breath on 1/3rd of AAP supporters swearing by to vote for NaMo in LS-2014. All polls were forecasting no more than 15 seats for AAP, and look where are they now? I always take these polls by pinch of salt (and a little bit of pepper).
I too believe AAP should sit in opposition and let BJP form the government being the largest party. What a situation – the largest party is hesitating in forming the government. In the past, the parties fight to get invitation from governor to form the government. Something has definitely changed. Seems like they are frightened to face an honest opposition.
I also think it is now time for AAP to look for a bigger picture. Instead of involving themselves in Delhi state level politics, they should focus for 2014 General Elections. The best bet will be states where only BJP and Congress are main players and people have no other option. Himachal, Haryana, Rajasthan, MP, Chattisgarh and Gujrat could be good states to start with and having organizational structure stand up. People in the urban areas are desperately looking for honest political alternative.
They should also stay away with the politics of coalition government. It is time for them to continue to gather momentum and not involving in petty gains.

Also keep in mind that a lot of voters voted for BJP, thinking that AAP cannot stand up. Now, if there will be election again in 2014 with General Elections, those people will vote for AAP and there is a possibility in getting more seats.
On the other side, AAP may lose few seats and they have to sit in opposition, which they are willing to do this time.
By going for re-election, AAP has nothing to lose.

I think BJP is too scared to be in the Power, merely due to AAP's presence in the opposition. They know they can't pass bills and do whatever they want unchecked without the support of the opposition. That's where the power of AAP lies. They are the power brokers without even being in Power, which is the true nightmare of the 'Bhagwa Clan'.

This is the best result that AAP could have hoped for. Marginal responsibility as the principle opposition party, with lots of bluster and media presence. Also no requirement to show for their ability to run an administration.
A clear win for AAP party would have put pressure on them to show some results, at least for a year or so until the federal elections. They would have failed.
