Hi CD's,

I got a ICICI Visa travel card with 2K CAD loaded in it. I want to withdraw it as cash and deposit it in an account. Most of the visa atm's like TD or RBC lets one to withdraw only 400 in a transaction with a transaction fee of $1.5. Is there any way to withdraw 2K in a single transaction?

Try visiting a branch of your choice (I prefer TD over RBC due to flexibility and hours of operation) and ask them if they can offer any options. If your goal is to open an account with that money, the branch may offer options, or not. But it's worth a try.

Find a branch that is close to where you live. Please call them and get proper directions for the withdrawals. Get their operating hours and the times that you can do the withdrawals at one of their branches. Ask them if they need advance notice for large sums.

I have a RBC account, probably I need to go in person and check with the manager then.
Can't withdraw from ICICI, what they have here is Mastercard and not Visa.......
This money is in lock for nearly 10 months now, have to move it somewhere useful.

I have tried both @ RBC / TD ..RBC allows $400/- , TD allows $1000 per withdrawal ... Bank could not help remit funds directly to my account .

... or for a total transaction fee of $7.50, you can withdraw $400 every day for five days and be done with it.
