I am looking to rent a place and I was suggested by a friend to go through a real estate agent. His contention are:

-Real estate agent have a better visibility to MLS listing. They see a lot more listings than what we see in MLS site (??)
-Since I wil be the tenant, I dont have to pay anything. The landlord will take care of any commission to the real estate agent.

Any thoughts?
