My family and I intend to land soon and then return to our home country to wrap up loose ends, as well as to wait for the school year to end before we come back to settle permanently .
I am sure this must have been asked numerous times, but I was not able to find a satisfactory answer to my question about goods (and jewellery) to follow, because we do not intend to bring in our jewellery or our household goods initially. We will do that when we come back to settle permanently. So how do we handle that during initial landing? Do we declare them as goods to follow and prepare a list?
Awaiting your replys and suggestions.
Yes you have to declare them as goods to follow in the specified format available at CBSA web site (Canadian Border Services Agency). All home appliances and electronic goods should be listed with make and ser #, Jewellery should be listed with type, wt and photos. Refer to earlier posts regarding this subject.
COST of each item is most important. Actually CBSA is writing off the cost/import duty. The form can be submitted only once during landing but can be used multiple times whenever you bring in item listed in it. CBSA will tick that item off from list.
you need to fill in the form for goods bringing along (on landing) and goods to follow.
Use Form B4 or B4A ( b4A is for goods more than 8 )

All the best.
