The problem with this comparison is that it ignores the efforts of property management. If you have spent hours a week managing your property, you really compare a passive investment in an investment that requires work and is not really fair.

I have some reservations, but before my cousin had invested in stocks and had a setback. I know that you need to update this, but - What is the best option for both?

I think invest in Real Estate is better. Because In recent years, the stock market has achieved significant reductions. Some short-term investors have lost some money. Many new stock market investors look at this and be very skeptical about doing now.

I am for real estate. Canada RE market gave us very good returns on all the properties we had. The only stock I brought and made some money was Nortel before it got kaput (blew away that money in Vegas trip).
