Thanks to many recommendations here, I signed up for Freephoneline and going good for now. I got one issue though. Tried their call center, but they couldn't help. If I am on a call, and another call comes in, I get the call waiting beeps. That's fine, but the first line goes totally silent - so the conversation is broken. I need to switch to the second line, hang it up and come back to the first. There is no time to warn the first caller either. From the first caller's perspective, the line just went all silent. Any one else having this issue? Any solutions?

Guys, nice discussion on MJ versus Freephoneline.. just to throw in the mix, has anyone looked at or reviewed Nettalk Duo [ which seems better than MJ +] ....Any feedback??

MagicJack Plus does not need a dedicated computer. works through your LAN cable. Costs around 60$ tax included. Try Kijiji.ca or go to Sheridan computer in Sheridan mall on Erin Mills and near QEW. The first year is included in this.

Have been using MJ+ for some time now - works flawlessly except one peeve - I have a pinless dial up provider for out of NA calls .... MJ tries to hook the pinless number to their long distance service and I have to search for another local access service number .. This happens once a fortnight .

Has anyone tried MJ+ in India?? How is call quality?? What is min Internet speed required??

Has anyone used Nettalk Duo in canada or in India?? Same questions as above...

Pls advise

Planning on taking one of these options in next India visit for family back home....

Yea i tried MJ+ and it works very well in India as well. Call quality will depends on your internet there in India. if you downloading movies and try to use MJ+ then you kind a screwed if you have low speed. Internet service is not very advanced as here in Canada. If you want the speed as per Canada you have to pay hefty amount per month. For regular use i.e. browsing, checking email and MJ+ even 256KB speed is okay in India and amount is fairly reasonable.

Just wondering, did anyone renewed their Magic Jack + after initial 1 year? I would like to know if anybody had renewed and which option is good to renew. Does anyone have redemption code as well? Please share, PM me.
