HI Guys
I am currently working in Muscat, Oman as a Financial Controller for a Petroleum Company. I am intend to move to Canada by first week of April. Is there any opportunities for a US CPA, CA ICWA India, with 17 years of experience out of which 6 years are in manufacturing and two years in petroleum industry.

You are good in Muscat..this country sucks big for professionals coming from middle east...
I hope u did your homework before coming to canada...
Recently Indian CA and Canadian CA institute has signed a MOU, so please find out more about it...
Without Canadian education and Canadian experience it will be difficult to get job here...they do not consider your education and experience here....
What you can do is come on visit for a month give a try if you found a job good or else you can go back to muscat...

Thanks for your reply. Will I get a Entry or Middle level with my experience or will they disregard my resume because of my seniority. If I am getting entry level what will be the pay scale. Any opportunities available please let me know. Thanks.

Hi Jai,
I would say you come here try for a month, if you're lucky you might get a entry level job in accounts/finance the pay will be somewhere between 25k-40k and after tax & all you won't be able to survive with it unless your wife is also working.
Here they do not consider your education and experience remember that...
This country need qualified/educated labours to do odd jobs...think over it and take your decision...but do not resign from your muscat job....

The OP is a CA from India, he will be automatically granted advanced standing in the CGA program, he needs to be a resident to enroll in the CGA program.
Another thing, both CGA and CMA strongly recommend being employed (in your field) while you are in the final stages of the designation.
A level 3 CGA student with 1 year of accounting experience in Canada is much more marketable than a CGA PACE level student who lacks Canadian experience.
