Hi all,
We just got more 2 invoices from both suppliers. (1 ) Enbridge for $315.91 with $250 as deposit + $25 for account transfer fee.
(2) Enrsource with $181.86 with $130 as deposit + $20 for account transfer fee.
Would someone please give us a idea are this charges are reasonable and what for they are asking for deposit?
P.S. : we just moved in house 20 days ago.
Your response will be much appriciated

The charges are standard. You can avoid paying deposit fee by calling them. Enbridge never used to do it but I think they started doing it now. I know enersource charged me $200 as security deposit but waived it when I asked them to do credit check. They will charge $15 for credit check though.
The security is adjustable in future billing. You have to check when they will start doing it. In my case enersource said after 2 years, that is why asked them to do credit check.
If you have owned a house or condo earlier, then you can tell them about that. They will not charge security deposit as you have been old and good customer (even of other utility - does not matter)
BTW, where did you move in missisauga (nearest major crossing)

anyway i am going to call them and let me try if they waived off this deposits, which is right now looks like not possible.
Major intersection Dundas and Hwy 10 - FYI

It is unlikely they will waive the deposit but give them your credit report and they will do it. You can get your report for $19 or so and give a copy to each of them instead each doing the credit check independently and charging you $15 for a report. check with them if it is acceptable to them. They need report with FICO. You just bought the house, you can request a copy from your banker for no charge.
