I would like to have clarification from seniors regarding taxation. We landed in Aug 09. My family lives in Canada and children studying there. Since I could not find any job I have returned to Middle East and plan to continue to work here for next 3 years. When I file my taxes in April, I believe I have to declare my earnings in middle east. Do we have to show salary slip from employer ? Is this income taxable? We have applied for CCTB and OSAP.

There's no need to send salary slips.
But you need to retain them for at least 7 years.
If asked by the CRA, you'll have to provide them.

Since landing here:
1) Did you buy a House, or a Condo, or an Apartment?
2) Did you apply and get OHIP? (If you are living in Ontario)
3) Did you apply and get a Driver's License in Canada?
4) Did you Open a Bank Account in your name or joint with the spouse?
5) Do you have a business in your name here in Canada? etc.,
There are many more questions that you have to provide the answers to, prior to giving you a definitive answer.
If the salary prior to arrival here in Canada, at your last place of work, was sufficient then you will get CCTB.
OSAP, has its own questionnaire and if the response and the answers were suitable, they might consider. But the chances are slim.
If you happen to be here in Canada, please drop in at one of the Immigration Help centers and clear your doubts.
