I want to buy ln46b650 (Samsung LCD 46" TV) from online store of USA. [Brand new from manufacturer + 1 yr. USA warranty ]

Check http://ln46b650.com/ for pricing of different websites.

Most of these store has low prices + no tax (most of all states of USA) + No shipping in USA.

For example:

Abe's of Maine selling ln46b650 in $1318 (USD) + No tax (except NJ) + No Shipping charge

Total price will be $1318 * 1.10 = $1449 CAD.

But the problem is they are not shipping to Canada. How to deal with them in this case?

Price in Canada for this TV is more than $2500 in stores and if you buy some online stores, it will be $2000 + tax + free shipping which can cost me $2300 at least in Canada.

Difference is $900 to $1000.

I am okay with USA warranty and ready to pay reasonable charge for shipping for this kind of TV.

I don't know anyone who is living in USA near to Canada border otherwise I would have shipped to his address and I can pick up.

Anyone has an experience to buy from USA?

Recent Trend on imports through mail from USA to Canada.

I've learnt through very reliable sources that since last monday(28th September 2009) the Canadian Customs is coming down heavily on imports from USA.

They are examining every other package coming from USA and also putting on heavy duties on import from USA.

Is this a retaliation on the US -Buy American policy, May be so.

Recently somebody who got a set of visiting cards printed in US paid for 50 bucks paid another 50 bucks.

This may be also due to high amounts of drugs, cigarettes and medicines being smuggled into Canada.

Do your homework on the import duties and other taxes before you buy from USA.
