This joke is obviously in poor taste
Try replacing the word "Gandhi" with Bal Thackarey, LK Advani or Sardar Patel, and see what responses you get

Yes. Nobody says that Indian history starts with Gandhiji. But on same note, nobody had guts to leave their practice in Africa, abandon normal comforts of life and try to bring 33 crore people under one ideology.

Absolutely Right Meghal, Gandhiji was the person who fight without any arms with peace.
try your self only one month to keep yourself calm and make your dream true. i am sure it is very very diffuclt if not possible.
It is human tendency we are become angry very soon with some small reason. Doesn't matter you are right or wrong?
Sometime we can not take out our frastration here on your job or on your boss, but end or the day that wiil came out at your home, your wife, your kids, etc...
It is not a question of humour alone, but also a matter of sensitivity. Even if these great leaders passed away, they left behind their mark in the form of sensitivity in people's minds.
This joke was surely poor in taste. Gandhiji's jokes are quite famous, but this one is definitely not of good taste at all.
Last but not the least, humour resides in us all, only the levels matter. There is something called intelligent humour!
