looking for sugestion for dishwasher suitable for a veg family of 4. No built ins pls.

Dishwashers can't tell veg from non veg. we use a Kitchen Aid dishwasher which has some great options. Also, make sure the interior is stainless steel.

You've to decide if you want a portable or a fixed one.


Then you need to decide based on the size of the slot available in your kitchen below your counter top and as close to the electrical outlet and also to the water connections.

If you live in a Condo you need to have the floor properly underpadded with both water proofing and also sound proofing so that you if there is a rattle it will not go down(Extreme Case Scenario).


Then you need to see if you want one with very many cycles or with simple cycles. The next you need to see is the height/volume available so that you can fix most of our vessels inside.

You also need to see if it comes with a Garbagenator so that big food wastes are ground and sent out through outlet.

Now comes the question does the color of the dishwasher match the other appliances ?. If the rest are Stainless Steel then you need to pay a premium for a dishwasher.

Do you want one with a touch pad or a Knob for controls. Each have their pros & cons.

Currently in Sears for Energy Star rated appliances you do not pay PST which is another 8%.

Make sure that you are readily prepared for taking it home with a van or atleast a hatchback car(measure your car space with a tape and carry it to the store and measure the packaging)if not you'll spend about $60 for delivery as it'll not fit in the trunk of your car.

The last is that after you decide this you might end up at Sears/Futureshop or other store and find a store display on Clearance and you'll end up doing a impulse purchase.
