I agree with Fendbend.
It looks like you want to do this only to make some extra money on the side and you think this will be easy money i.e sell one house of 400K every month and collect a nice 2.5% cut.
i know RE agents and they say it's taken them a good 5 - 7 YEARS to establish themselves in the market that they make money on a regular basis.
there are so many of such wannabe RE agents out there, everyone looking to make some money on the side that you would be no different.
if you have a particualr $ figure on mind that you want to make, there maybe other ways to do that.
and if you really wanna be a RE agent, then take it more seriously i.e. dedicate time to study for that, maybe sub under another agent for a couple of years before going out on your own.
the RE folks on this forum can share teir experience but I would be surprised if anyone says it took them less than 5 years to establish themselves

I humbly request you don't do it.

I'm not a Realtor, but I'm worried for a few good one's out there.

There are good guys like Amit Kalia, Rajeev Narula and others who are in this business. They just do this for their living. This is their bread and butter. They live and breath Real Estate.

The statistics are heavily against you.

The only thing you will do is to screw up the market in terms of commissions, by cutting the commission to literally to nothing, offering half hearted service(as you are preoccupied with the other job) and hence the person who will suffer is your humble customer, that is me.

If this trend continues, you'll end up with realtors carrying signs on the side of freeway entrance, exits which read that \"Will Work for FOOD\".

Do you want this to happen?.

Please do not do anything half hearted and end of the day screw up for others.

Hope you understand my view point/perspective.

When its 2nd job, It does not mean (work for money) or Let the market down,it may be there Intrest or passion

who work for there passion not for the money they not only make marketUp,But they do by heart

If u r not serious about money then Y going for RE as part time....

do some social work, charity work or volunteer work ... this gives u peace of mind, fame and u can actually help others...


When people look for second job ...they dont do it for fun... its about money my friend.
