We are expecting to land in Toronto in April 2009. My son is doing his engg.degree in NIT Calicut. He shall be completing 2 semesters by April.
1.Can he join a University in Canada for 2nd year?
2.If not how long he should stay in Canada to complete the formalities for applying for PR card and then to return back to his University in india?
Appreciate advice from Desies who have knowledge about such cases.

1. Depending upon the marks and the grade that he has obtained, he can seek admission into a university that will provide him with a seat. When he gets approved for the year that he is seeking, he gets into it at that level. Some universities do not recognize or has no reciprocal agreements with the ones in India. So apply to the one he is desirous of joining and see if he gets accepted. Talk with "CIIP" there in India. They will help him with any of these questions that you want answers to.
2. Since he is migrating together with you as a family, he stays as long as you want him to stay. You can obtain the PR card and send it to him when received, if he has to get back to Kozhlikode without it.
