If some one can share their experience
Our situation is as follows
I met the required 720 days of residency obligations, while my wife and children don’t meet the required number of days.
We have submitted the renewal application 2 weeks back. Although there were 4 options for applicant who don’t meet the residency requirements like (accompanying Canadian citizen spouse, working for a Canadian company etc).
My wife and Children don’t fit into any of the 4 options.
As indicated in the form we need to go through the “Humanitarian ground” route, and they would get back to us asking us what Humanitarian reasons that prevented us from meting the obligation.
If some has gone through this exercise can you share your experience, on what happens next?
Secondly once my PR card is renewed (since I meet the residency obligation) can I then apply for family sponsorship (my family is in Canada) and not wait for the Humanitarian ground route to take its course
Thanks
Hi, I think if you are the Primary applicant and fullfill the PR criteria it should not be a problem to extend card for you and for your family too (even if the family hasn't met the criteria they are your dependents). I'll ask other CD members to advise on this.
I say from my case, my husband works for a Canadian co. and hence we all are out of Canada with him as PR's. Since we accompany a legitimate PR holder as his dependents our PR will be extended too when the time will come.
Hope this helps.
Jona
jona---if u dont mind--Is your husband the owner of the company ? Because if u own a company and are working outside the country,I think u need to have certain number of people on your strength. I am not very sure. Thanks
U should just apply with actual info ... Dont bother to go through the H and C grounds
What will happen mostly probably is ur PR will get extended.. Ur spouse and children may have to appear before a judge who in most probablity will granted the PR renewal. this i think is subject ur Wife and children not leaving country before this happens....

No I don't mind! To answer your question, No he's not the owner (I wish he was...how does it feel to own a Gold Mine Company!)
We recently got our Kids Travel visas for Canada as they don't have PR cards (me and hubby have). The immediate dependents, wife and kids are obviously in the criteria if you are accompanying a legitimate PR holder, I would like someone to correct me if I'm wrong. I don not know of other dependents status for e.g. parents, brothers or sisters.
Hope this helps................Jona
you may get your reply in this link----->www.immigration.ca/discussion
Your family should be alright. They don't have to worry about it.

Make sure that you call the CIC call center in the morning. They open at 08:00 +
Hope this helps.
