There is a lot of new housing coming up in the East area of Markham and the Cornell Rouge area. Markham/Stouffville hospital is nearby and schools are being built with the increase in new housing. There is Mount Joy Public school but that is closer to Hwy 48 (Markham Rd). The one thing that is nice about the new developments in Markham is the large amount of park space which is
Transit is still a bit of a problem but the 407 is always an option going East/West. There is a GO Station also nearby (Mount Joy Station).
However, if you need to get to the 401 for work it will take you a bit of time as you would have to head West to the 404 and down to the 401 and during rush hour the drive is a bit congested. The other option would be to come down 9th Line but you would have to cut across to Markham Road and the traffic is a bit busy heading to/from the 401.

Thanks! Vim for your suggestions. My wife works in downtown (she doesnt drive) i guess she might have to take TTC/Go transit for taking TTC she might have to find a way to get at least to Markham/Steeles. I work in York Region (hwy7 and 404)and i drive. Good to hear that there is a huge space for parks and recreation. I hope they still do plan for some discount grocery store and retail malls. I know quite a lot commercial development is going along Hwy 48/Markham Road on East side. This weekend probably i am going to take a drive towards that area to do a survey of the area.
