I saw decision made in my e-client yesterday. Hopefully I should be getting visa soon.
My wife is pregnant and her due date for delivery is first week may2004.
As per my calculations she won't be eligible for OHIP. Guide me as to the expenses involved in delivery and the best course of action for me
Hello Tiwana
I don't want to be a dampener to your spirits, but I would advise you to check out with the airlines as to whether they will allow your wife to fly when she is in the last trimester. A relative of mine was not allowed to fly when she was 7 months preg, due to air pressure..... which might bring about premature delivery.
Now if thats the case, then you should make your plans to move this month itself (u say ur wife is due in May) to avoid any probs. I don't know about the expenses etc of delivery in Canada. Or else wait till the baby is born and then move, but for that again u would require to make a passport for the baby and get a visa.
I might be wrong, in what I've stated above, but since I had this info, i thought i'd pass it on to u.
Best wishes to you
Fernandes
Thanx
I checked up with air canada website.
They allow trave upto 35 weeks pregnancy with a doctors certificate
you'll have to purchase extra private insurance

Hello,
I expect its going to cost between Cad $ 10,000~$ 18,000. It all depends on how much complex the case is, what is the treatment, how many days in hospital.
So, I will suggest have an insurance or stay in India till baby is born. You have to make the right choice. You won't get the job right away in first 3 month in your field. Also, without Car having baby is a challenge, so I hope that you have friends and relatives in Canada, to accomdate all of your social needs.
Best of luck
