Hi,
It's not true that international students can only work 20 hours a week, I am working 21 hours per week right now; besides, I have many friends who do the same, working legally. That rule is applicable in US, I don't know the limit for Canada though and nor does the CIC website tell you that.
Infact another statement, very famous among international students that we can't do part time job on campus if we are not registered as a full time student, is also not true. I am working on campus for the university and I have a part time status.
It depends on the institution (university/college) one is involved with, as to how they treat the international students.
