Hello CD members,
Since my work load is quite high in my office, I have decided to go for Buffet dinners on Friday and Sat. nights and i am looking for inexpensive buffet restaurants in the GTA. I have heard that Brampton has the most inexpensive veg & NV buffets in the Town.
I would appriciate if CD members can share their knowledge with the location of these kind of buffets and w/ their price.
I am not only looking for Indian restaurants but also Chinese, Thai, etc... but price should be very inexpensive (Read : Cheap)

My knowledge is as follows :

1. Your Clay oven - Mississauga, Eglington and Dixie (Dixie and Aimco), 4 NV and 4 Veg. dishes + std. Rice,Naan, Salad, Ice Cream, Sweet etc.. Only Lunch Buffets $10

2. Novelty Restaurant - Mississauga , Burnampthorpe and Mavis, 3 NV and 3 Veg. + the usuals. $10 for Lunch and $11 for Dinner.

3. Gopal Restaurant - Mississauga , In a shopping complex near Dundas-Hwy 10. 4 NV and 4 veg. + usuals. Horrible taste . $10 or $11.

4. Imperial Chinese buffet - Duffering-Steels. Very big one and good one too. The price is around $12 lunch and $14 Dinner.

5. Dhabha- (Downtown) Near King St. and University Ave. In the First floor. Lot of items available for just $12. A steal considering that it is in Downtown area. Food was so and so (I have forgotten it since i ate it a long time back).

6. Japanese Sushi restaurant - Around Younge-Eglington after crossing Mt. Pleasant Intersection. Eat to order but unlimited. This is to reduce wastage and to eat fresh food made to order. It is around $16 but considering , a japanese Sushi buffet, it is a stal.

3. if u like south Indian, there is a place at hwy 10 and king street(near dundas). in a plaza's food court, his south Indian is very good.a big gaint size dosa come in 7$.(i bet u cannot eat more then that :-)).

4. for cheap food i like subway the best. in 5-6 $ u get big large size sandwich along with coke.

5. also Madras doso hav buffet in 7$. where u get nonveg and veg both.

6. for chinese i like Mandarian. they have buffet in i think 10$(or 12) but the food is excellent.

7. gopal at hwy 10 and dundas is horrible. i agree the food if u see it, u will not be able to eat. we once visited that place, but found customer service and food so horrible that went out with out actually eating it.

hope works for u.

Hello guys!
I tried this restaurant at Eglington and Tomken and would like to describe the food as follows :
Buffet is $8 +taxes.
Many items (veg.) are not good. Brar is much better than this but some items were really good. The good items were Palak, Fruit Salad and Garlic Naan. Garlic Naan was the best i had ever tasted.(when i was tamil nadu, My mother used to make chapathi's like papad - I used to soak it in mutton curry for 12 - 15 mins. before i ate it - and hence i had an aversion to naan, chapathi, parota etc.... But this garlic naan made me a fan of naan) Buffet variety seems very very less. There was not much crowd anyways.
Since it is a family run business, if you pay by cash, you will pay at the counter w/o tips and then there is a small box nearby for tips. You can escape by even putting 25 cents into the tips box. Since i paid by credit card, i paid 10% tips.
No free coffee in the buffet.
Washrooms are in a very good condition.
If given a chance, I still prefer Brar veg. buffet to this. CD's could add more.
I also heard of one KKarma (non. veg) at Terry fox and matheson which had good NV buffet. The person who told me this also told me that they have very good Garlic Naans. Price is around $11 + tax.
