Try Ports Hotel in Missisauga, I stayed there for two weeks in 2006 when I first landed. Paid about CAD500/week.
Yes someone else also recommended this once though I never got a chance to try it . Are there other good guest houses in Mississauga that people are aware of based on experience .
Maybe only I have noticed this but those who profess / recommend some guest houses elaborately (like Uncle Pritam's in a previous post) or Didi's on this page leave the forum after 1-2 posts . Be smart readers .

Reviving this thread once again with an objective of enlisting good guest houses in Mississauga , CDs ~ please share your inputs and recommendations for newcomers to Mississauga who wish to stay for one month or less .
Most of the links on this thread are Toronto based - I wonder if we can add some from Mississauga . So far Ports in the last thread appears to be good. Any other places that are clean , hygeinic and provide good service...?? on the same lines and reputation as perhaps sunnynewcomer .

When we made my initial entry in 2002 and re entry in 2005 I stayed in a fully furnished two bedroom apartment at Enfiled place on Kariya Dr a small walk form Square One Mall for the first few weeks. I paid $500 a week. Since it was fully furnished we could cook our own food as we used to shop at Wal Mart and the apartment even had a washer/dryer for the laundry.
As we had no friends it made sense for us to stay there as I know had we stayed in some dingy place or a basement I would have been miserable.
We really enjoyed our stay there and that made us think positively about our move to Canada.
My kid's were happy in spite of the big change.
It is cheaper then a hotel and you don't spend a lot of eating out. The owner accepts cash so that saves you any extra taxes.
