GST cheques - What is this

Hi

I have seen some of post talking about GST cheques? What is this cheque? Do we have to apply separately when filing ITax. What forms are needed for filing if it is different from filing ITax.? I have filed ITax for 2005 and got a refund. Is there anything else I need to do?

When filing your taxes, there is a check box on page 1 of T1-General, which has to be checked (Are you applying ofr a GST Y/N). If you're eligible, CRA will send you the GST cheques. The amount is split into 4, and a cheque is mailed to you every quarter in July/Oct/Jan/Apr

You can apply for it now also. This is a rebate given for the GST that one spends in Canada. It is given only if your income is below a certain level. You can visit the website http://www.crc.gc.ca" rel="nofollow">LINK for details on it.
