Is there any place in scarborough where I can buy paneer (paneer used for making paneer mutter masala)?

Go to any Indian Stores

There are some on
Lawrence and Markham Road
Middlefield and Finch
Middlefield and Mcnicoll

You will find many brands: Nanak, Bawa etc etc

We usually buy the 'Desi Paneer' brand and find it very good compared to other brands. Currently it is only available at one Inidan grocery near Markham / painted post.

When you do not want to drive far / or are in a hurry, you can make your own Paneer:

Standard Recipe:
1. Boil one litre milk.
2. When it is on boil, wring one or two limes or lemons into it, till milk curdles.
2. Put on simmer for two minutes.
4. Strain into a clean washed muslin/thin cotton cloth.
5. Tie up and hang for few hours or overnight.
6. Open the cloth and cut into desired cube sizes.

Instant recipe:
1. When you are in a hurry and want to make it into a bhurji/mutter masala, there is no need to hang for long, a few minutes would be fine. (But this way it will not set and cannot be cut into cubes.)

Other advantages:
Water strained from paneer is very nutritious and can be used to make a tasty dough.

any indian store in scarborough. they all carry nanak brand paneer and possibly costco. i saw it at costco in brampton and don valley store.
