What's the closest US airport to Ottawa?

We have to travel to the US very often, We're used to fly to Buffalo then take a rental car to Toronto. we're moving to Ottawa. What's the closest US airport to Ottawa and how long is the drive from there?

Why don't fly direct to Calgary? Is it cheaper to fly domestic and then rent a car to Canada?

I went from Great Falls, Montana. It is a 6 hr drive from there to Calgary.

What is the fun in flying to Great Falls and then driving 6 hours to Calgary instead of flying direct to Calgary? I don't get this

Look at this link from the Ottawa town webpage
http://www.ottawa.ca/visitors/destination_ottawa/index_en.html
They have a map + directions by Car to Ottawa. It looks like you have to locate a airport located either in Northern New york or Western Vermont. These are the shortest crossings to Ottawa.

Does forcanada want to go to Calgary or Ottawa?

They are not nearby cities! They are nearly across the country from each other!

please clarify.
