Can G2 of Canada be exchanged with US driving license?

Hi,

anybody knows if we can exchange Canada G2 with a US driving license (say in NJ state)?

I've heard of people do that. Guess if the authorities are ignorant and don't understand the difference between G2 & G, they'll do that.
