Move Car from California to Waterloo

Hi!

I am moving to Canada soon would like some advice on if I should move my car with me. The specifics of the car are:

Make/Model: Toyota/Corrolla
Year: 1987
Miles: 184,000
** Passed Smog Test in California.

Are you going to drive the car to Waterloo or ship it?
My friend bought a Honda Accord 1991 model for $800 and by the year your car would be worth much less.
If i were in your shoes, i would sell the car in California and get myself a 2 nd hand car in waterloo.
OTH, if you are planning to load it with your belongings and drive to a new home and life in Waterloo, then i would consider driving it over. I guess it would involve some documentation and import duty at the border. Please go through other posts in this forum since it has been discussed before.

I will not drive. My employer in Waterloo will pay for the car transportation. Hence the interest!

Hi,
Your car looks old may be worth $1000 to $2000 so why you want pay $1000 to mover.
I have a Toyota Corolla 2000 with 55000 miles on it and I am also planning to sell before moving to Toronto.
I am even planning to sell all furniture and move to Toronto with 6 bags(4 check in luggage and 2 carry on).

u better get rid of your old car. It's just not worth the hassle.

Your car is fairly new. Where are you moving from? You may be better off bringing your car to Canada.
