I've checked my status of my citizenship application in the cic site. It states that my app has been moved to Windsor office and they will contact me about the Date of the citizenship test and the Oath.
How long does it take for the Windsor office to conduct the test? When can I expect my date of the test.

I've recieved the Citizenship exam date as Dec 7th. How many day's after the test can I expect the Oath?
It is important for me to know since my Indian passport is expiring On Dec 31st 2005.
I need toplan if I need to update my passport.
Any information is greatly appreciated.

Per one of my neighbors who just recently went through the test, it took WINDSOR CIC 13 months to call him and his family to write the test. The oath is about 2 months from the test.
According to the neighbor, Windsor is one of the most backlogged CIC office due to heavy PR applications.
My apps was transferred mid Nov 2005 and if what my neighbor says is true, nothing is going to happen until Dec 2006 !!!
Can any more of Windsor applicants provide their timelines?

The post above shows that the guy\\\\'s file was moved to Windsor on Oct 24 and then he had his test on 7th Dec.

Damn...YOU ARE RIGHT. Well, guess what, that is good news for me indeed, since my neighbor's case may not be the norm, and I certainly hope it is that way.

Just an update for whom this might be relevant:
I wrote my citizenship test today, Feb 06, 2006. My file was transferred to Windsor in mid Nov 2005.

I had my Citizenship oath in Windsor on 8th Feb. Thanks to all the Canadian Desi member's for your valuable inputs throughout.
Can someone please let me know, as a Canadian citizen , what countries I can travel without Visa?
Is there any site to look that information?
