-- Irrespective of the method of renewal, the US employer has to give a TN specific job offer letter each time you apply for a TN. If you apply by mail, then US employer has to sign the application (and give it to you to mail it). If you apply at the border, you go there personally with the TN letter.

Can u please clarify if one has to change or reapply TN visa prior to its expiry if somebody changes the company ??

I did not quite get the question, but here I go if this answers your question:
You have to apply for the "renewal" of your existing TN status before its expiry. Also, if you plan to change the job, you have to get a new TN for the new employer before starting the job for the new employer.
Thanks a lot ..Yes it does answer my question which i might not have asked properly ..
It just doesnt make a sense that I have to renew my TN visa if i change employer even though visa might be still valid for another 06 months ..

Yes, it's a pain. But TN is employer specific (just like an H1) and that's why you need to get another one for the new employer even if your current TN is valid.
