I am to land in Canada in May 04, reading Canadian Desi has in a way prepared me for the worst, I am a agri engineer any scope for agri in Toronto if not where else in Canada, I have been a feild man for most of my working career and a desk or office bound job may not suit me,unless of course the money is good. Do not know anyone in Canada, can somebody help?

Shridharan, welcome aboard!!

First of all your post is in wrong place. GG pls move it. Thx

Saskatchewan is a central canadian province which is known for its agricultural research. In India, IIMA has some profs with Sask PhD.

Profession like Agri Engr is seldom heard among desis here.

U.S based co. called SCOTTS is a common name in selling agri products for summer time.

I think you'll have to do lot of homework in this field once you land here.

Can one survive doing odd jobs and what are the jobs like this that a person can get right away

Raj,

If you have done labour jobs in the past or are doing one now, please share your experiences in the following post if you don't mind.

There are a lot of people sitting in India who say they'll do "any job" to survive in Canada. Most don't know what these "any jobs" are like and it would be nice if more people would share their experiences here to give them an idea.

Are you there?
