Warsaw, June 24 (IANS) German midfielder Batsian Schweinsteiger said Sunday that he could miss Thursday's Euro 2012 semifinal due to a recurring ankle injury. Germany, who thrashed Greece 4-2 in the quarterfinals Friday, will face the winners of Sunday's match between Italy and England. Schweinsteiger revealed his ankle had not completely recovered after suffering a ligament tear while playing for Bayern Munich in February. "To be honest, the ankle is worrying me," Schweinsteiger was quoted as saying by Daily Mail. "It didn't heal properly. But there isn't time to rest. Hopefully we will have two more games and I have to struggle through. But then I will take time to get healthy." The 27-year-old, who is being courted by Champions League winners Chelsea, has played an instrumental role in maintaining the Germans' unbeaten record in this year's tournament. However, the midfielder admitted that he had a bad day in the office in Germany's quarter-final triumph. "I made some bad passes that I usually never make ... Such errors should not happen to a player like me," Schweinsteiger said.
