Mumbai Heroes excited to play against Kerala

Kochi, Feb 9 (IANS) Mumbai Heroes are all geared up to play against southern superstar Mohanlal-led Kerala Strikers in their home ground here as part of the Celebrity Cricket League (CCL) Saturday night.

Aftab Shivdasani, who has been a part of Mumbai Heroes since the first season, said this time the game was expected to get the maximum crowd at the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium.

"I am excited. As a unit, it is good to be back. We reckon this to be the biggest turnout. The atmosphere is going to be electric on the field," Aftab told IANS.

"Of course, we will be the underdog here as we play against the home team," he added.

Bollywood actor Sonu Sood said the team this time was more co-ordinated this season.

"The first season was fun. We were not well prepared and didn't know how to handle the crowd," he said.

"Suddenly you are brought in front of so many people... it gets tough. I think in the second season, we were prepared little more. Now this time we are more co-ordinated," he said.

The third season of the celebrity cricket league began with a match between Chennai Rhinos and Bhojpuri Dabanggs here Saturday.

Superstar Salman Khan will be attending the opening ceremony which will be held after the first match.

CCL has grown over the last two seasons. This time two new teams, Veer Marathi and Bhojpuri Dabanggs, have been added.

The actor said a game like cricket depends on the player's luck.

"They are all actors first but with every season they have grown. In cricket you can't say... Sachin (Tendulkar) performs one day and someone else the next day," he said.
