Since this is the TAX season.
Thought I will ask the fellow desi what they recommend.

I’m married with 3 children, wife does not work.
Working for a local company so basically have one T4.
Also have some stocks so have a T5 from the bank.

Question:(

File the tax return using software like QuickTax/TaxWiz/UFile.
I would like to know if they are all the same or is one s/w better than the other as the prices do vary:
QuickTax $34
TaxWiz $30
UFile $20

OR

Use a certified accountant (tax expert) to get your income tax filed ?

I would appreciate your response & personal experiences.

Thanks :)

You can use TAXTRON for free (download from their website taxtron.ca) if your taxable income is less than $30,000. or you can buy TAXCEL (downloand from their website taxcel.ca for free) for only $8 plus tax and do unlimited returns.

My pleasure.

Hi.
I was doig my taxes on a software at a friends home.
There was something for 'GST Rebate'
What do i enter here?
Is the the total amount of quarterly GST i receive a year?
Any tax return tips for a single guy with no dependents.

For any point which you do not understand on the tax return you can always refer to the help in the software for that particular item/line or see tbe benefit booklet on CRA website.

This GST rebate is for self employed people based on their last year return and not for employed persons. The GST refund you get quarterly is NOT TO be entered here or any where as that is not your part of income.

With single and no dependent, you are out of luck for many benefits but can always take advantage of RRSP and credits for education/tution fee, your locker rent, house rent or property tax etc.

Any other questions, you can call or pm me.

Good Luck
