I have applied for citizenship in Sepetmber 2003, and haven't received acknowlgment yet. When I called to CIC customer service; they told me now waiting time is 15-20 months. Almost 6 month to wait they open your envolpe..and once you receive acknowledgment it will take 10-12 months.

Yes, it is very strange. Sometime I wonder, how the system works here?
My time lines are:
Applied: End Feb 2004
Finger prints given: June 2004
Test Date: Dec 2004
Oath letter received for March 2005
hi guys...
i also do wonder how the system works here...i called the citizenship centre yesterday and i was told that my file has not even been assigned to any officer..
i had applied in July 2004 for both my wife and myself and still no progress...they told me that the waiting period has now incresed to 12 to 15 months..which is not what is written on the website..
i wonder if it has to do if u have left canada in between and not completed the 3 years at a stretch...

Is there something like fast track process for Citizenship. Similar to desi tatkal schemes. It is available for Mississauga and Brampton residents. You pay a little more get your file processed fast. I have heard a lot about it. Is it really possible?
