Question for those who live/have lived in Gulf and USA.
How much does one have to earn on Canada before tax to live the same standard of living as someone making Baharian BHD 1500/month.

1 BHD is Rs 165. So the tax free salary is Rs. 2.5 lakhs a month. That is Cdn $ is - $4100 a month. Add taxes of $ 900 and it is $ 5000 a month. So it is $ 60K a year just in terms of salary.
Having the same standard of living varies as per situation :
1. Having children will entail free education in Canada where as in Bahrain we need to pay fees.
2. Airfare to India is cheaper than from Canada to India.
3. Insurance and house rent is more in Canada.
4. Middle east work culture is more relaxed.

If you ask me, I would say that 80K a year in Canada will be a good match

SO so my friend who go this offer is making 152K right now... i will advise him to skip i gues...

I have lived in Bahrain and the cost of things are cheaper - potential of savings higher .... Comparing it to here I would say BD 1500 should be equivalent to $100K. $150K here should equate BD 2000/- ... ( Bahrain is cheaper than the UAE)

Having said that Bahrain is not the same what it used to be with all the civil disturbances .. I would prefer Qatar currently ...
