I am looking to visit Cuba this year with family and I am requesting folks to share their experience of their visit.
I visited Bahamas last year with my family for a week, I limited my visit to Nassau and Paradise Island. Stayed in "Atlantis" resort, the best resort I have seen my life.
Over all the trip was very pleasant and satisfactory. Also when I shared the deal information with others, they said it is very very cheap. If some one is looking for pointers on Bahamas visit, I could share the details.
4 days in Atlantis including flight return fare for three, paid $2560.
Well, if any of you have visited Cuba, please share your overall experience whether it is OK to visit with a 7 year old kid (my daughter) who should also enjoy the trip.

The kids will enjoy...so will you but go with the understanding that the star rating is a bit exaggerated. e.g: a 4 star in Cuba is probably like a 2-3star hotel in Bahamas or Mexico. Also would recommend that you read up on the various vacation sites about what how to tip the locals etc. e.g: toothpaste, soap etc are sought after commodities under the communist system(i dont know if Raul has made a difference to this).
Nice proud local people there, in spite of the system. We had a good time. Food was in plenty but not too good. Heard that the best produce of cuba is reserved for the tourist industry(sad in itself)...however the cooking is another story.
Don't know if you are veg...maybe a bit tough...but fruits are plenty too.
A lot will depend on where you stay...look for a 4 star or higher rating.

Check out the Blau Varadero resort. It is an excellent place with great ocean facing rooms, a huge swimming pool and good entertainment at night. The food in Cuba sucks, no spices, so take your own with you. More variety for non vegetarians but even there the food is bland. But there is a lot of fruit available in the buffets. Seven days is all you can take of Cuba. The beach at the Blau is smaller than others but the hotel staff is good and friendly. There are lot of activities arranged around the pool such as Salsa dancing, water polo, there is table tennis and tennis courts. The drinks are free but CUban white rum tastes more like antifreeze, the more you drink it. After a while you get tired of the free drinks. But the cappucinos are great. Overall a very pleasant experience.

2: Interet service and WIFI: Will it make sence to carry my netbook or will be better to use Resort's commmon Intrnet service. My question around Internet security,Airport check in,theft etc etc
3:Airport Fees : I believe it's abot 25 CUC.Do I have to pay during entry or departure?
