"On Tuesday evening, a posse of policemen was dispatched to the city's Lake Kankaria, which has seen many a distraught person commit suicide.
The lake is Ahmedabad's largest and the city police's decision came after witnessing the gloom on the streets as the markets continued their downward plunge."

So much for the stock market. Small investors are the one who are at loss.
Amazing, is it for insurance?
When will people learn not to play in the stock market. It is like going out to the ocean in a small dingy boat and then complaining of large waves, sharks and what not. Some people just donot learn, greed to participate in the boom. Hey, if you have to make money in the stockmarket there are many safer ways to do it like an index fund or an ETF. And India has a lot of savvy funds.
I completely agree with 'Desi'. Why people jeopardise their savings/earnings on stock market? Trust me, I have never seen anyone getting rich out of Stocks/shares. Yes, I have seen brokers or other people deal in stocks/shares driving fancy cars and have all the richness in life - but all material. Yes, I have seen even brightest stock/share geeks ruining their lives, and losing everything at the end - their money, family, kids, wife. You name it and they've lost it.
I would rather admire a person having a peace of mind than a mobile headphones plunging through ears getting stock quotation throughout the day. Ask about their sleepless nights.
I always laugh when there's a news about any Stock Market getting high in numbers. Then, I tend to get sad thinking about so many people who invest their life savings and the day the stocks go horribly wrong. It just takes one down arrow and three digits.
Wake up!!!
