My parents and brother got Canadian Immigration, right now they are visiting us (Seattle, USA ). What we are looking for is a place for 8-10 or longer (we are flexible) days in Vancouver, Surrey or surrounding areas so that they can figure out what they want to do.

We are not sure at this moment as to where my brother would start studying, which university, what kind of business my father would like to be involved in
that's why we are not renting any basement/apartment yet.

Basically, we are looking for paying guest kind of service where they can get a room to sleep and share kitchen, washroom. They would not be bringing furniture and big items at this moment.

While you have your thinking cap on, look at some of these places and see if you want to rent for a day, a week, or a month. Here are some of the locations that will rent, room and board, rent rooms by the day or a week. You will do better by renting a furnished place by the month. May be for a period of two months or more. Get close to a transportation Hub.

Seattle weather and Vancouver's are -mirror image- of each other, Being north of Seattle we have it a little bit cooler. With Occasional snow. We will have beautiful sceneries with snow clad peaks to supplement the days' start with the chores. Please carry your Brollies and Mukluks and you will need them from now.

There are 'Guides to Government of Canada Services and Support to Small Business' available with them. Get some materials and explore.

There are 'Paying Guest Facilities' for people from abroad, that are available there and the person that I would to hear from is on a break to his home land. Hence, I am at a loss, currently, to help you in that direction, with information that you can depend upon.

Good Luck with the hunt,
Hope this helps.

Freddie.

FYI,

kijiji comes from Swahili language. Means Village. One can post free ads in the village, right? So in kijiji.

Try Craiglsit also for Vancouver.
