Hello everyone,

I am moving to Toronto, my office being in the downtown. I was wondering what are the better locations to move into where the commute is not too harsh. Any suggestions welcome?

Will commuting to and from Missasauga be very difficult even if the Go station is closeby.

Any other recommendation greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Welcome to Toronto.
Let us see your options.
If you're office is not close to Go-Union station, you may either need to walk or take a TTC (Paying additional $2.75 one way + $2.75 in the evening ) .
Or from Mississauga, you could drive up to Kipling or subway station then take a subway.
Or you could live in Etobicoke and use a single TTC pass for both bus and subway.

In a way, it depends where is your office in downtown... I work in downtown too.
Send me a PM, I will be able to help you with the information.

Also, you can consider Scarborough, DonMills/Sheppered subway lines etc..,

Good luck..

Hi,
I tried to reply you but you know what, CD limits me sending more than one PM and I just one to another friend.
Could you please PM me my contact details..
I will either call you or reply your email with the apartment / region information I have.

BTW, I also work in Bay Street and my expected transit time is same as yours (35-40 mins max) and I found the apartments near Islington subway suitable to me.

Though the rent is slightly higher than other apartments but I've chosen that coz.
1. Elementary school - next building.
2. Subway station - next building
3. TTC, Mississauga Transit bus - next building.
4. Close to 30-40 mins travel to Bay Street.
5. No need to take many buses and trains to go to my work.
6. Facility has indoor pool, gym, Sqush courts, Game room, tuck shop, convenient store and uh.. Beautiful evening view of Downtown from top floors.
7. Naturally multi-cultural coz, mostly new immigrants and Downtown employed folks seem to stay in the building.
8. Downtown is just few minutes and a train away, can go there on weekends if I like.
9. No need to buy tickets/passes for multiple transits (TTC, Miss.. Brampton).
Good luck..

Sidenote : The only problem with Islington subway, is the availability of grocery shops nearby. Earlier, they used to have a food basics nearby but it has now given away to a condo. complex. The nearest grocery shop would be beyond kipling subway station or a 24 hrs. rabba at Islington/dundas. Islington subway has good meat patties.
