Primus Hijacked my telephone

Primus called my home and convinced my wife( She does not know anything ) and managed to swicth my telephone from Bell to theirs and in HER Name without my authorization. The telephone was in my Name and now it is in her name with Primus.

Now the telephone is not even working . Incoming calls are not working . As it is now her name , they will accept complaints from her only. She does not know how to complain also.

Bell told me that we can put a password. Without the password no one can switch your telephone without your authorization.

Now I dont know how long I will having telephone without incoming calls.

Get your wife to call them & then you can speak to them. Tell them that you can take some legal action against them. As far as I know, if the phone is in your name only then they cannot take this step by talking to your wife unless you have authorised your wife to take decisions on your behalf.

Tell them that you want to cancel the subscription. Talk of going to the press, has lot of effect.

Talking of going to the press has no effect on these thick skin guys. Bell did that to my line, not once, but twice in a year. I even complainted to CRTC - Result : No action

Yes, and ultimately I put a password on my account.

Get your wife to call them and tell them that she authorises you to speak on her behalf.

Goodluck dealing with these guys.

Just call BELL and ask them to switch back. No need to call Primus - they cannot switch you back, even if they wanted to.

This practice is called \"slamming\". If you use calling cards, you will get calls from a call centre in India trying to make you switch. I get at least one or two a day! One day they got hold of my Dad. Talked to him in Hindi. Got him to agree to switching. I got a bill from this strange company in Montreal and that is when I realized what had happened. I switched back to the original supplier.

CRTC site http://www.crtc.gc.ca has a complaint form. While that may seem like a waste, but enough of the same types of complaints and the company will be forced to change its ways.

Hi Big V

You are right BV. CRTC can only regulate Bell (as it is having monopoly) and other telephone companies it can’t regulate because of competition. However Crtc gave me an executive complaint number for Primus.

Primus took 5 days to rectify the problem of incoming call as Primus don’t own any line (their supplier is Allstream). For them Friday was a holiday, then it takes 2 business days to get the work order to Allstream and today (wed) it got rectified.
