i have this long problem.
my father was at a very good post with a company and earning in six figures,6 years back,then he resigned and hasnt been working since,except for the past one year.now he is working in a top company as the vice-president,due to the financial problem for so long,our bank account hasnt been filled much,in the last one year whenever he earned we wouldnt deposit it,rather we would use it directly or save it at home.now again he has joined the company and he earns a the same amount plus incentives too.but we have yet to start depositing the money in the bank.so
*we dont have much liquid cash.
but we do own our house which is certified to be worth 1 crore.
*we have farms in our village though they havent been transfered to dads name and are by our grandfathers name who has passed away,
*we have another plot worth around 25 lakh.

Ive been admitted to a university in canada for the january session and have also recieved 1000 dollars scholarship.i will be applying for visa by november ending.
Iam about to pay the resident fee in a few days,the total fee for the four years of study is around 25 lakhs.
THE PROBLEM
Will NOT having liquid cash at the momenteffect my visa approval.we plan to take education loan for my studies.In a few months time though,there would be absolutely no problem of any kind.
My parents plan on saving money so that they can pay back the education loan side by side.
IF such a thing happens,is there ANY other way we can overcome this problem?
We can also show my fathers earning per year.will that be a positive point?
my parents have no son and all of us are sisters,so there is no question of me not coming back home.
ive applied for mechanical engg which is under co-op programme.and it isnt available in india.

Since you already have a University in mind and they also have provided you with a merit scholarship for $1000, (Is it annual and total amount?) you know how much more you will need per annum as the tuition fee and the cost of boarding and lodging at that location. You can compute the total costs that you will incur for the duration of your stay and the Degree.

You and your Parents will have to make fervent efforts between now and the time of application and raise the sum that you know currently as the requirement. That should be there and SHOW in the Bank account for you to be able to draw, and it should be in YOUR Account. You can have your Parents as joint in custody.

All of these are requirements, your Father will understand it. Print it and put it in front of him.

You got selected at 'A' University and now you will have to send them the 'fee' and receive an 'acceptance' letter from them for the next semester (Winter) and make all of the efforts, starting now and get yourself ready for the course and your travels. (See if they will start you off with a work semester or the study first)

The next two weeks are crucial to your departure in the sense, you all will have to do most of the spade work and remit the fees, for the first year and show the sustenance also. Get the receipt of payment from them in due course, also see if you can get a printable one over the net or by fax.

The Co-op programs that I have heard of are excellent and they will keep you in good stead financially, all through the years. You will have to put your heart and soul into it and score the top marks and keep it up. If you end up with the top ranking companies as an apprentice with them, you would have earned enough to cover the four years of the Degree.

After the letter of acceptance from the University and the procurement of the Bank statement, I see no obstacles in your way.

sir i have been given my acceptance letter,as i have already payed my admission fee,the university has even provided me with the university pin number and registered me.
i will pay the first year fee shortly.
when i apply for visa,i will only have the loan money in my bank to show,because of our previous financial problems,
can not having any money other than the loan money effect my visa approval?
can having property with high rates,and also a very good income per year compensate for it?

When the loan gets approved and the funds get deposited into YOUR account, get a Bank statement as proof and the balance from the chequing account. Obtain a demand draft from them for your first years requirements. The loan money extended to you should be sufficient for your Four years of stay for the Degree. Your Dad might be able to get it as a line of credit and use it, as and when you find it necessary. Utilizing the funds skilfully is always the objective and having enough assets and a nice income will be a Plus. Use it to your advantage.

Please print and fill out the required forms for the Student Visa and get the papers ready. Try and retain a photocopy for the files.

When you get the University's response for the payment of your fees, provide the same together with the acceptance letter and submit your application to the CIC Visa Center there in India for processing.

You will have to make a deal with a travel agent for your December travels, as the seats will be hard to come by at that time of the year.

Time is of essence to you and your joining the University. See if you can organize the same and get everything to gel, before the starting date next year.
