Hello guys,
I am PR of Canada and I am applying for H1B visa. I am wondering, if visa is granted then can I go for stamping in any of the US consulate here in Canada or do I need to go to my home country?
Your insights would be highly appreciated.
Thanks and have good one!!!
If you live in Canada and have strong connections to Canada (e.g. PR card, Canadian address, Past /present jobs in Canada, Employment in Canada of spouse etc..) you can get H-1B Visa stamped in Canada.
Apply only to the nearest USA Counsulate. For e.g. if you are in the GTA, You have to apply only to the USA counsulate, Toronto.

Thank you very much for your reply. I am just wondering is it necessary to apply to the nearest US consulate only?? I live in GTA but some reason giving halifax consulate for stamping. Is it ok???
Thanks for your reply
2 years back, this was not the case. People in the GTA had to apply only to the Toronto (USA) counsulate.
Check with their call centre. It is 1-900 number and they charge $2 a minute. The call centre reps. are knowledgable and very helpful.
